3 Ideas for Semester Project
1.) Now what? – The blog will focus on what happens to students after they graduate college. Students will share their stories involving having to move back home with their parents, looking for jobs, paying back their loans, etc. I will post articles about the job market (top professions that are in need of workers) for students to look at.
2.) Living with an autistic family member – The blog will focus on the various challenges that people undergo when caring for family members with autism (or any special needs for that matter). Experts will offer advice on how to manage living with autistic family members. There will be lists of organizations and groups that people can turn to for financial, emotional support. The blog can even act as an outlet for people to express their feelings and stories too.
3.) Throwing away pets – The blog will predominantly focus on pet negligence. People buy, adopt pets for reasons without realizing the time and effort that goes into caring for them. Once the need or want to have a pet is gone, people will literally throw them away. Volunteers, employees at shelters and organizations will talk about such problems as well as possible solutions. People will share stories involving finding animals that were left behind by their owners. Tips will be offered regarding what to do when finding stray animals.
Hey Court,
I like all three ideas but I’m glad you changed the order because I think your number one topic: Now what? is a perfect idea for a blog. It could be very informative for people to read especially in our age group and I think you’ll be able to get a lot of interviews and articles related to this topic. The autism idea is nice but I don’t think you would be able to talk to enough people. Good idea’s overall though!
The pet story sounds promising. You need to work a little more to develop a clear theme, though, so you don’t try to cover too much.
I think you should write about throwing away pets. People write about dogs a lot, but not from this point of view. Like the Katrina pets, these dogs are left behind. I am curious to see how this develops. It may be hard to get four stories out of this, but the slide show has great potential. Animal photos draw out emotions.
